Kathmandu: In the first match of the T20 International series, the Nepal national cricket team suffered a defeat. In the recently concluded game, Nepal lost to the UAE national cricket team by 6 wickets.

In a rain-affected match, the UAE were given a revised target of 78 runs in 10 overs. The UAE successfully chased the target in 8.5 overs, losing 4 wickets.

Captain Muhammad Waseem top-scored with 33 runs. He faced 15 balls, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes. Alishan Sharafu contributed 18 runs, while Aksheed Naphat remained unbeaten on 17 runs.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets in 2 overs, conceding just 8 runs. Kushal Malla also took 1 wicket.

Earlier, at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal, after winning the toss and batting first, scored 122 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 18.5 overs before rain interrupted the match.

Nepal captain Dipendra Singh Airee scored 32 runs. Kushal Malla made 17, Kushal Bhurtel 16, Basir Ahmed 14, while Arjun Saud and Nandan Yadav contributed 13 runs each.

For the UAE, Muhammad Zuhaib took 3 wickets, while Junaid Siddique claimed 2 wickets. Haider Ali and Muhammad Arfan took 1 wicket each.

The second and final match between the two teams will be played tomorrow.
